Dental Assistant; EFDA - KSA Spanish

Overview

Integrated Clinical Services (ICS) of the Health Department provides quality dental services to underserved populations in Multnomah County. The Dental Assistant (EFDA) – KSA – Spanish assists dentists and hygienists in daily dental care and requires fluency in Spanish and English.

• Clinical Functions and Provider Support: Provide 4‑handed dentistry, mix materials, place rubber dams, take impressions, anticipate provider needs, conduct dental assisting and expanded functions (sealants, polishing, matrix retainers, temporary restorations).
• Resources Management / Infection Control: Sanitize operatories, ensure supplies, report repair needs, follow PPE guidelines, monitor inventory.
• Customer Service: Interact respectfully with patients, manage wait times, notify about schedule changes, perform phone follow‑ups, serve as liaison between staff and providers.

• High school completion or equivalent.
• Valid expanded‑function dental assistant certificate with radiologic proficiency issued by the Oregon State Board of Dental Examiners.
• Board‑accredited dental assistant program graduate.
• BLS CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
• At least one year of responsible dental‑assistant experience is preferred.
• Comfortable with fast‑paced clinical environment and teamwork.
