Position: Sr. Designer, Digital Concept Design - HOKA

The Role

As Sr Designer, Digital Concept Design at HOKA, you will be at the forefront of redefining performance footwear. You’ll drive innovation by leveraging 3D design and generative AI tools, building digital workflows that amplify creativity and accelerate development. Your vision and expertise will empower designers, unlock new dimensions of design, and shape the future of how athletes experience HOKA.

Your Impact
  • Lead HOKA’s digital design enablement roadmap, integrating 3D design, AI visualization, and prototyping tools into the footwear design process
  • Build and scale custom digital workflows and generative design systems to enhance creativity and efficiency
  • Partner with Product Designers to rapidly ideate 3D forms and assets (upper builds, renders, 3D models, generative assets)
  • Collaborate with Product, Development, and Engineering teams to define 3D digital workflow handoff directly to Factory teams
  • Provide hands‑on support to empower the design community in leveraging digital tools throughout the product creation cycle
  • Contribute to annual and seasonal creative vision and design direction, shaping progressive performance narratives
  • Work closely with cross‑functional teams (Design, Development, Innovation, Engineering, Digital Product) to align tools with real‑world needs
  • Demonstrate expert‑level knowledge of Running, Outdoor, and Lifestyle Footwear competitive landscape
  • Travel for design inspiration, market research, trade shows, and factory collaboration as needed
Who You Are
  • Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial design, product design, interaction design, or a related field
  • Bring 7+ years of experience in 3D design with a footwear focus
  • Have 1‑2 years’ experience mentoring or training new team members
  • Demonstrate expertise in 2D design and 3D NURBS + POLY design and render tools (Rhino, Modo, Blender, Zbrush, Grasshopper, Gravity Sketch, Unreal, Keyshot, Substance Painter, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Lead generative AI platforms (Midjourney, Vizcom, etc.)
  • Possess deep knowledge of performance footwear design, tooling design, mold design, and manufacturing techniques (upper + tooling)
  • Excel in performance footwear upper and tooling 3D modeling
  • Experienced in developing and implementing digital workflows for design teams, including AI‑assisted ideation, visualization, and prototyping
  • Familiar with rapid prototyping, simulation, and digital‑to‑physical pipelines
  • Strong communicator and collaborator with a portfolio showcasing creative excellence and technical innovation in digital design
