Assistant Designer, Footwear: Sportswear, Training, Outdoor

purpose & overall relevance for the organisation

supporting the design team as part of an international team in collaboration with marketing and development to design market-driven footwear products and concepts for the adidas brand specifically for the north american consumer across categories including sportswear, running, and outdoor.

• assist in the design and development of creative solutions to concepts within the assigned category or project.
• collaborate with design team in researching trends, gathering consumer insights, solving design challenges and creating great product.
• support in the visualization of ideas for products and ranges creatively and with clarity.
• execute design work according to the visual language of adidas as well as given corporate identity guidelines according to legal guidance.
• ability to stretch across both footwear design and cmg (color, material and graphics) disciplines.
• create accurate 2d and 3d tech packs.
• contribute to tech pack handovers, submitting relevant information needed for the development process including proper 2d and/or 3d sketches, detail callouts, material maps, cads and any supporting artwork.
• assist in creation of presentation boards including concept and consumer (where applicable), design sketches, materials, and accurate product information.
• support product management and development in all issues regarding the realization of products and collections.
• verbally present concepts, products, and details with clarity and impact.

• fluent in english (spoken and written)

• bachelor’s degree (b.a.) from a college or university, major in design or industrial product engineering.
• 1+ years practical experience in footwear/apparel/accessories-or industrial design, fashion design or similar design related areas.
