Role:
Color Designer – Footwear
Location:
Portland, OR (Onsite)
Duration: 6-Month Contract
We’re looking for a Color Designer who lives and breathes sneakers.
What you'll do:- Create and execute color designs for footwear products
- Develop seasonal color stories, palettes, and product-specific color solutions
- Research color, consumer, cultural, fashion, and lifestyle trends — then turn them into product
- Review samples, communicate revisions, and finalize color specifications
- Manage line art, color specs, CAD file organization, timelines, and deliverables
- 5+ years of color design experience — footwear preferred (apparel/consumer products considered)
- A portfolio with real color storytelling: mood boards, palettes, and the why behind every choice
- Strong grasp of color theory, color application, materials and finishes
- Fluency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Sneaker culture and consumer trend knowledge, backed by insight data
- Bachelors in design, Color Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design or equivalent experience
