At the heart of our practice is an integrated approach to design, where architecture and interior design work closely together on all projects. The studio itself is a creative lab where designers collaborate on the best solutions for each project’s unique needs. Deca has a diverse portfolio which includes projects in education, hospitality, country clubs, retail, commercial offices and health care, including residential behavioral health.
Deca has a current opening for a Senior Interior Designer. Candidates with a degree from a CIDA accredited university (or equivalent experience) will be considered. NCIDQ certification (or active pursuit) is also preferred. Other qualifications include:
Responsibilities- Lead interiors work on projects from concept through construction phase
- Manage FF&E selection and specifications
- Produce construction drawings
- Collaborate directly with clients and the architecture team
- Coordination of maintenance of an interiors library

This is a hybrid position based in our Portland office, with most of the time expected in-studio.

Required Skills- 7+ years professional interior design experience
- Ability to provide creative design solutions and attention to detail, as well as manage multiple concurrent projects
- Excellent communication, research and organizational skills
- Ability to manage materials library and coordinate with manufacturers’ reps
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong interior architecture skills, including programming, space planning, finish material specification, construction documentation, furnishing selection and specifications, sustainability awareness
- Must be proficient in Revit, MS Office (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel), Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and preferably AutoCAD
- Experience in 3D rendering software is a plus
