Structural Drafter

The Structural Drafter will create detailed plans and drawings for commercial buildings using AutoCAD and Revit. This role collaborates closely with design engineers to develop accurate structural documentation, incorporate design markups, and contribute to high-quality drawing sets and visual presentations for a variety of projects.

• Draft structural plans, sections, and details for commercial building projects using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Interpret design concepts, sketches, and engineering notes to produce clear and accurate structural drawings.
• Collaborate with design engineers to refine drawings and ensure alignment with structural design intent.
• Apply redlines and markups to existing drawings, updating models and documentation as designs evolve.
• Develop and maintain 3D models and BIM documentation to support coordination and visualization.
• Prepare diagrams and presentation drawings that effectively communicate structural designs.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project standards and codes as directed.
• Support multiple concurrent projects, managing drafting tasks and priorities in a timely manner.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting standards, workflows, and documentation practices.
• Participate in a mentorship-focused environment, learning new tools and techniques to advance drafting skills.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD for structural drafting and detailing.
• Proficiency in Revit for structural modeling, drafting, and BIM coordination.
• Experience producing structural drawings for commercial building projects.
• Ability to interpret and apply redlines, markups, and engineering revisions to drawings.
• Strong understanding of structural drafting principles, including plans, sections, and details.
• Ability to create and work with 3D models and BIM-based documentation.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings and documentation.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with design engineers and project team members.

• Background or prior experience as a structural drafter.
• Familiarity with diagrams and presentation-style drawings for design communication.
• Interest in expanding skills in BIM workflows and cutting-edge design tools.
• Motivation to learn from mentorship and grow professionally within a design-focused environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $38.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
