Structural Drafter

The Structural Drafter prepares detailed plans and drawings for commercial buildings using AutoCAD and Revit. This role collaborates closely with design engineers to develop accurate structural documentation and contribute to high-quality drawing sets and presentations for a variety of projects.

• Create detailed structural drawings, plans, and sections for commercial buildings using AutoCAD and Revit software.
• Develop and refine structural details in support of engineering designs and project requirements.
• Interpret and apply redlines, markups, and design changes accurately to existing drawings.
• Prepare diagrams and 3D views to support Building Information Modeling (BIM) and project visualization.
• Collaborate with design engineers to clarify design intent and ensure drawings align with structural calculations and standards.
• Contribute to the overall presentation quality of drawing sets and project documentation.
• Maintain organized drawing files and ensure consistency and accuracy across all drafted documents.
• Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality expectations.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD for structural drafting of commercial building projects.
• Proficiency in Revit for creating and modifying structural models and drawings.
• Experience with structural drafting, including plans, details, and sections.
• Ability to interpret and apply redlines and markups from design engineers accurately.
• Familiarity with BIM workflows and 3D modeling for structural design documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with design engineers and project team members.

• Experience working as a structural drafter on commercial building projects.
• Comfort working with diagrams and 3D views to support design communication.
• Interest in learning advanced design and drafting techniques through mentorship.
• Motivation to grow professionally within a design-focused environment.

This position is based in an office environment with a strong culture of mentorship and professional growth. The team focuses on cutting-edge design, providing opportunities to work on a diverse mix of projects and expand technical skills in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and structural drafting. No personal protective equipment, hard hat, steel-toe footwear, certifications, or medical monitoring are required for this role, and typical office attire is appropriate.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $38.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
