Gridwork AE (formerly Livermore Architecture & Engineering) is an architectural design and structural engineering firm located in Portland, Oregon, specializing in commercial and industrial building types. We are a small firm that regularly completes big projects in a range of different markets. We currently have a position for a talented, intelligent, and capable architectural staff member. Responsibilities will include production of design documents and project support including programming, schematic design, code reviews, construction documents, consultant coordination, jurisdiction submittals, and construction administration tasks. The candidate will be expected to use tools such as hand sketching, AutoCAD, and Revit to produce and document designs. Additionally, over time the candidate may be expected to add project management tasks to the duties including client contact, scheduling and budgeting, contract writing, and business development.

The duties also may include providing occasional drafting assistance to the structural staff as needed.

• Degree in Architecture from an NAAB accredited college.
• Licensed or actively pursuing licensure.
• A minimum of 5 years of work experience on commercial and/or industrial projects, including schematic design, construction documents, and construction administration.
• Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner.
• Strong work ethic and motivation to learn.
• Excellent organizational, communication, critical thinking, and design skills.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.

• Good programming and design skills.
• Good understanding of technical construction detailing.
• Good understanding of building and energy codes.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
