Function / Duties of PositionDoernbecher Children’s Hospital – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
Join one of the Pacific Northwest’s most respected pediatric institutions and make a daily difference in the lives of critically ill children and their families. Doernbecher Children’s Hospital is seeking a dedicated PICU Hospitalist to provide exceptional, compassionate care in our dynamic Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
In this role, you will function in a resident-style clinical capacity, delivering high-quality pediatric care to infants, children, adolescents, and youth with complex and acute medical needs. You’ll be an integral member of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team committed to excellence, safety, and family-centered care.
What You’ll Do- Participate in daily morning rounds in the PICU alongside CVICU and MSICU teams, contributing to comprehensive, coordinated care plans
- Work closely with attending physicians to provide oversight and ongoing management of critically ill patients
- Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care with a strong focus on patient- and family-centered decision-making
- Interpret diagnostic studies, prescribe and manage medications, and oversee therapeutic interventions
- Diagnose, manage, and treat common acute and chronic pediatric conditions in the intensive care setting
- Collaborate and consult with pediatric subspecialty services as needed to support complex care
- Serve as a first-call provider in the ICU, with responsibilities that include daytime, nighttime, and weekend coverage
Please note:
This is a 4 month limited contract.
- Board-eligible physician, or
- Physician Assistant or Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (board certified)
- Active Oregon medical license
- DEA certification
