Description:

The Adjunct Instructor of Physical Science in the traditional program reports to the Dean of the Department of Natural Sciences and Health and is responsible for teaching primarily lower division chemistry, physics, and/or mathematics courses. At Warner Pacific University, physical science in the traditional program primarily serves majors in the Biological Sciences and students taking science for core requirements.

Essential Functions:

* Teach assigned courses, including lecture and/or laboratory sections as assigned.

* Articulate and model current best practices in teaching.

* Work with students for understanding outside of class, either in person or virtually.

* Provide feedback to students in a timely manner.

* Submit grades and an electronic copy of the gradebook in a timely manner at the end of the course; also submit grades electronically at mid-semester.

* Work collegially with faculty, staff, and students.

* Understand and promote the mission, values, and core themes of Warner Pacific University.

* Exhibit excellent communication skills in all interactions with faculty, staff, and students.

* Continue professional growth, including participation in the professional development opportunities provided by the institution.

* Adhere to university policies and procedures.

* Demonstrate a commitment to a Christian liberal arts education by upholding the mission of the university and abiding by the Employment Standards and Lifestyle Agreement.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Graduate degree in physical science or education/teaching required.

Preferred Qualifications:

* College teaching experience in relevant curriculum.

* Experience working with diverse populations.

* Ability to educate and mentor traditional students.

Physical Demands - Work Environment:

The position is located in a typical office environment. Professional/business casual attire is required.
