SALARY: $22.59- $31.27 Per Hour (Range

JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT(S): The position of Graduation Coach provides a broad range of services to students in Grades 9-12 that demonstrate risk factors that indicate they are at‑risk for dropping out, need academic/behavioral and/or social coaching, or have recently dropped out of school. The primary function of this position is to connect students to our schools and programs to support their progress toward graduation.
The Graduation Coach performs receptionist, public relations, secretarial and clerical duties as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborate with school staff to identify, connect with, and support students for successful completion of high school.
- Assess students’ academic abilities in connection with the students’ teachers.
- Develop an academic and vocational Student Action Plan.
- Provide follow‑up support to the academic and vocational plan.
- Mentor students on an ongoing basis.
- Connect students and families with support services.
- Identify behavioral and mental health needs and make the appropriate referrals.
- Develop a positive, professional relationship with students to encourage engagement in school.
- Re‑connect students that have stopped attending school and support their academic engagement.
- Conduct systematic checks for student progress.
- Assist school administrators in supporting student academic progress.
- Collect and track data and report, on a regular basis, progress on the on‑track status of freshman students.
- Participate in necessary meetings including the attendance team, freshman on‑track teams, and counselor meetings.
- Participate in home visits with another staff member as needed.
- Attend all training seminars offered, as requested by supervisor.

JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Attend meetings assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
- Compile information and data for statistical and financial reports; provide information to supervisor as requested.
- Compile and assembles various special reports, forms and summaries.
- Coordinate and compile information related to major purchasing programs; process purchase orders; maintains budgetary records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS –

Required:
Skills to operate standard office equipment including use of basic computer applications and word processing. Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email and student information systems. Proficient use of English in written and verbal form, use correct spelling, grammar and punctuation. Develop positive relationships with students, families, and school staff. Manage difficult behavior problems and model appropriate behavior for a work setting.
Knowledge of work and research techniques sufficient to collect, analyze and interpret data; principles and practices of business letter writing; and basic record keeping principles and procedures.
Abilities to quickly acquire a working knowledge of departmental policies and procedures; perform secretarial and administrative support functions requiring independent judgment, decision‑making and problem solving; plan, organize, prioritize and complete a high volume of work in a timely and efficient manner.
