Position

Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments in Interior Design. The department will review applications as needed for new part-time faculty in this area. This is NOT a specific open position, but a Part-time Faculty Interest Pool from which the department will identify applicants based on course assignment needs during the Academic Year. Applications may be considered for substitute assignments as well as full-term class assignments.

Instructor Qualifications

Demonstrated competence for Interior Design is determined on a per-course basis.

For Each Course, The Instructor Must Have

  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in interior design or a related field

  • Architecture
  • Kitchen and Bath Design
  • Lighting Design
  • Textiles

Note Regarding Academic Credentials
  • Official transcripts are required to be submitted within 2 weeks of offer date for degrees required in the stated Instructor Qualifications.
  • Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution with equivalent regional accreditation. Transcripts from other countries will be evaluated by agencies with good standing from the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services to establish fulfillment of this standard.

Part-time Faculty Compensation at PCC

Newly hired Part-time Faculty at PCC generally start at Step 1 of the current salary schedule. Hourly rates are determined based on the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab).
