PCC is accepting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments in Chemistry. The Department reviews applications in this pool as needs arise for new part-time faculty in this area. This is NOT an announcement of a specific open position, but a Part-time Faculty Interest Pool from which the department will identify applicants based on course assignment needs during the Academic Year.
Your application may be considered for substitute assignments as well as full-term class assignments.

Please review the PCC Course Catalog for this subject area. As part of this application, you will be asked to list the current PCC courses which you would be able to teach. Instructor Qualifications- Master’s degree (or higher) in the subject area
- Master’s degree (or higher) in a related area PLUS 30 quarter hours of graduate credit in the subject area
Subject Area Degrees Include (but Are Not Limited To)
- Chemistry, Chemical Education, Biochemistry
Related Area Degree Include (but Are Not Limited To)
- Agricultural Chemistry, Biophysics, Chemical Biology
- Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Materials Engineering
- Materials Science, Petroleum Engineering, Pharmacology
- Physical Sciences, Toxicology
These lists of subject and related areas may not be inclusive as there are other degree titles that may be appropriate. The Program Dean, in consultation with the Faculty Department Chair, will make a recommendation to the Pathway Dean about applicability of a degree outside the scope of this list.
Provisional Approval:
An instructor without a Masters or Doctorate may be approved if they have 30 quarter hours of graduate credit in the subject area and are actively pursuing the degree and are anticipated to be awarded the degree within six months of hire, as determined by the instructor’s graduate advisor (a letter from the advisor will be required and kept on file).
