Job Title: Director, Trinity Early Learning Center (TELC)

Location: Portland, Oregon

The Director of Trinity Early Learning Center (TELC) is responsible for the administration and leadership of the center, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and aligning with the vision and policies established by the TELC Board of Directors. The Director will foster a positive, collaborative environment for children, families, and staff.

• Administer the TELC program in accordance with the guidelines and directives of the TELC Board of Directors.
• Ensure full compliance with the Oregon Department of Education Certified Child Care Center certification requirements as defined in OAR  through .
• Maintain ongoing compliance with all relevant Federal, Oregon State, Multnomah County, and City of Portland regulations and requirements.
• Oversee daily operations, including curriculum implementation, staff management, enrollment, and facility maintenance.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate teaching and administrative staff.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with families, staff, and the broader community.
• Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, implementing improvements as needed.
• Manage record‑keeping, licensing, and reporting requirements.
• Foster a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for children and staff.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an AA degree with 45 or more hours in early childhood education and child development.
• Have one year or more of experience in management and supervision of adults.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in an early childhood education setting, including supervisory or administrative experience.
• Knowledge of OAR  through  and related regulatory requirements.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and oversee diverse groups of people.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler Certifications (or ability to obtain upon hire).
• Pass Oregon Background Check, Child Abuse reporting, First aid, infant/child CPR, Food Handlers’ Certificate, and other trainings necessary to obtain personal certification and licensure as an Oregon Department of Education Child Care Center Director.
• Ability to lift children of up to fifty pounds from the floor to waist height ten to fifteen times a day; to crouch to a child's height and maintain contact at a child’s level to sit on the floor, to stand tall enough to reach children who are on play equipment.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language.
