Camp Counselor/Assistant

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assists and helps the lead teacher.
  • Provides high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants.
  • Supervises campers and ensures their safety, general well-being, and cleanliness of the site.
  • Assists in leading various small and large group activities.
  • Ensures accurate program records are maintained, including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance.
  • Keeps all emergency procedures associated with the camp program in mind.
  • Tracks camper’s dietary restrictions/allergies and ensures meals/snacks are distributed accordingly.
  • Mediates any campers’ disputes.
  • Enforces all safety guidelines associated with the camp program, ensuring the whereabouts of charges at all times.

Locations: 5839 and 5816 South Hood Avenue, Portland, Oregon

Duration:
June 19 – August 21, 2026 (Monday‑Friday)

Working Hours:
  • Option 1: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Option 2: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Compensation:
  • $20–$22 per hour
What We Are Looking For :
  • Bilingual (French) A2 level preferred.
  • Current enrollment in Oregon's Criminal Background Registry (C ) or enrollment prior to start date.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education is a plus.
  • Preferred certifications in CPR and First Aid.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for working with children and contributing to their growth and development.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
