Part‑Time Faculty – History (Interest Pool)
Join our Team at Portland Community College. PCC is currently limiting employment to individuals residing in Oregon and Washington. Employment offers are contingent upon the ability to establish residence in Oregon or Washington. PCC will also provide reasonable accommodation for the hiring process as required.
Portland Community College is the largest post‑secondary institution in Oregon and the 19th largest in the nation. With four comprehensive campuses, five workforce training and education centers, and 200 community locations in the Portland metropolitan area, PCC serves approximately 80,000 full‑ and part‑time students. PCC is accepting applications to be considered for Part‑Time Faculty assignments in History. The Department will review applications as needed for new part‑time faculty and may consider applicants for substitute assignments as well as full‑term class assignments.

Instructor Qualifications- Master’s degree in History

Master’s degree in a related area (including, but not limited to, American Studies, Ethnic Studies, Russian and Eastern European Studies, Latin American Studies, Women’s Studies, Black Studies, American Indian Studies, or Holocaust and Genocide Studies) - Thirty (30) quarter graduate credits in History

Official transcripts are required to be submitted within two weeks of the offer date for degrees required in the Instructor Qualifications. Instructors must have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a foreign institution with equivalent accreditation. Candidates with foreign credentials will have transcripts evaluated by agencies with good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.

Newly hired Part‑time Faculty at PCC will generally start at Step1 of the current salary schedule. Hourly rates are determined based on the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab). For more information, review the Part‑time Faculty Salary Schedule at https://.
