Purpose

The Para educator 2 assists the Teacher in delivering the instructional program, preparing classroom and materials to support individual and small groups of students. The role also supports behavioral management, living skill development in varied school and life situations, helps maintain classroom and individual student management, and provides supervision of student activities to ensure a safe, orderly environment. The incumbent fosters student autonomy in school, work, and community living environments.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the teacher with instructional delivery.
  • Prepare classroom and materials for lessons and activities.
  • Support individual and small group students.
  • Participate in behavioral management planning.
  • Assist in living skills development across school contexts.
  • Maintain classroom and student management with or without teacher supervision.
  • Supervise student activities to maintain safety and order.
  • Encourage autonomous functioning for students.
Position Details

Position Type: Full‑Time Probationary

Daily

Work Schedule:

7:15 am–2:45 pm

Hourly Rate: $24.70569–$31.63395

Work Calendar: 10‑month calendar; 183 calendar work days per year
