Riverdale School District is seeking an experienced and collaborative Assistant Principal for the 2026-27 school year. This full-time leadership position supports the Principal in fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-achieving school environment while advancing the district's mission and strategic priorities.
The Assistant Principal serves as a key member of the school's leadership team, supporting instructional excellence, student services, Multi‑Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Section 504 coordination, special education collaboration, student behavior systems, school operations, and community engagement. The successful candidate will be a relationship‑centered leader committed to equity, continuous improvement, and collaboration with students, families, staff, and community partners.
JOB SUMMARYThe Assistant Principal supports the Principal and other assigned personnel in maintaining effective school operations, implementing district initiatives, supporting student achievement and well‑being, coordinating student support systems, facilitating communication among stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with school, district, state, and federal requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Instructional Leadership- Support the Principal in implementing the school's vision, mission, and strategic goals.
- Supervise and evaluate assigned staff members and support professional growth through coaching, feedback, and collaboration.
- Assist in monitoring instructional practices, student achievement, and school improvement efforts.
- Support curriculum implementation and instructional initiatives aligned with district priorities.
- Oversee and coordinate Section 504 processes, including facilitating meetings, ensuring compliance, maintaining documentation, and partnering with families and staff to support student accommodations.
- Collaborate with special education staff and administrators to support effective implementation of special education services and compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Participate in and support meetings related to special education, student services, intervention planning, and student support.
