PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Assistant Dean of Admissions within the Office of Admissions reports directly to the Senior Associate Dean of Admissions & Director of Admissions Communications. This role is primarily responsible for managing the recruitment, admission, and enrollment of prospective students through territory management, application review, recruitment travel, admissions programming, and relationship‑building with students, families, schools, and community partners in support of institutional enrollment goals.
Additionally, this role serves as a key member of the Admissions Communications Team and supports the development, review, execution, and assessment of enrollment marketing and communications efforts, including email, SMS, social media, print, and web content. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, organization, relationship‑building, and project coordination skills, along with experience engaging diverse communities in educational settings and representing an institution professionally in both independent and collaborative environments.
To be successful in this position, the individual must excel at building meaningful connections with prospective students and families, analyzing and applying enrollment data to recruitment strategies, coordinating events and travel, managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment, and contributing effectively to a collaborative admissions and enrollment team.
- Develop and implement territory recruitment strategies using enrollment data, high school profiles, yield trends, and partnership outcomes.
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective students, families, high school counselors, community‑based organizations, and independent educational consultants.
- Manage recruitment communications and outreach efforts using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, including Slate.
- Maintain accurate territory records, school profiles, and travel documentation.
- Conduct holistic review of undergraduate applications and recommend admission and merit scholarship decisions.
- Evaluate applicant materials within a territory management model to support institutional enrollment goals.
- Analyze recruitment and admissions outcomes to assess effectiveness and recommend strategy adjustments.
- Contribute to enrollment planning initiatives and annual admissions goals.
- Represent the college through high school visits, college fairs, interviews, receptions, and recruitment programs.
- Coordinate and execute regional and national travel schedules to support recruitment objectives.
- Deliver presentations and facilitate interviews for prospective students and families using current institutional and program knowledge.
- Serve as a visible and professional representative of the college during evening, weekend, virtual, and in‑person events.
- Assist the Director of Admissions Communications with the implementation of the enrollment communications strategy, including drafting, proofing, and sending emails, text messages, print mailings, and web content.
- Coordinate Admissions social media content, in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Admissions Fellows / student staff.
- Monitor and report on communications engagement using CRM reporting tools, UTM parameters, email engagement metrics, and conversion data, and provide recommendations for improving messaging, content effectiveness, and communication cadence.
- Gather student stories, campus highlights, and content ideas to support future communications efforts, while remaining informed of emerging trends and best practices in higher ed marketing.
