Portland Community College (PCC) is currently accepting applications for Part‑Time Faculty positions in Early Childhood Education at the Sylvania Campus. The department will review applications as new positions arise during the academic year. This is not a specific job posting but an interest pool from which applicants may be selected for substitute or full‑term classes.
Program and Who We Are Looking ForApplicants will be asked to list the current PCC courses they are able to teach.
Instructor Qualifications Education- Master’s degree in the subject area or a related area. All Master’s degrees must include a minimum of 30 quarter credits of coursework in early childhood education.
- Three years full‑time equivalent recent work in the field, specifically with children ages infant through preschool and/or families in early care and education. Recent is defined as within the last 10 years.
Instructors who meet the above requirements may teach all ECE and HEC courses, except ECE 234.

Part‑time faculty begin at Step 1 of the current salary schedule. Hourly rates are determined based on the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab). Part‑time faculty are eligible for benefits such as Oregon Sick Leave and retirement savings plans.
