Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part‑Time Faculty assignments in the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program. The department will review applications in this pool as the need arises for new part‑time faculty. This is not a specific open position; it is a Part‑Time Faculty Interest Pool from which applicants may be considered for substitute assignments or full‑term class assignments.

Instructor Qualifications- Master’s degree in TESOL from an accredited institution.
- Master’s degree in a related field (such as foreign language, linguistics, speech, anthropology, English, adult education, intercultural communication, international studies or other fields upon SAC approval) and proficiency in a foreign language plus a TESOL certificate or substantial (40 quarter hours or 30 semester hours) 400‑level or higher coursework in TESOL methodology from an accredited institution, including linguistics, language acquisition theory, and language teaching methodology.
- Master’s degree in a related field (such as foreign language, linguistics, speech, anthropology, English, adult education, intercultural communication, international studies or other fields upon SAC approval) and proficiency in a foreign language and five years experience teaching an adult ESL classroom across levels (pre‑literate to college) to students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and educational backgrounds.
- At least two years of experience teaching a college‑level English curriculum to speakers of other languages.

- Instructors must have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a foreign institution with equivalent accreditation. Transcripts for foreign credentials will be evaluated by recognized agencies of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.
