Part‑time Faculty Position – Aviation Maintenance Technology

PCC currently limits employment to individuals residing in Oregon and Washington. Employment offers are contingent upon the ability to establish residence in Oregon or Washington.

Portland Community College is accepting applications for part‑time faculty assignments in Aviation Maintenance Technology at the Rock Creek Campus. This is a part‑time faculty interest pool; applicants will be considered for substitute or full‑term class assignments as course needs arise during the academic year.

Please also review the PCC Course Catalog for this subject area. As part of this application, you will list current PCC courses you would be able to teach.

• Associate of Applied Science in Aviation Maintenance Technology or other vehicle service field and a valid FAA Mechanic certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
• Minimum of five years experience exercising the privileges of both the Airframe and Powerplant mechanic ratings. (Five years of experience teaching at the college level or in an aviation maintenance training department may be substituted year for year for aviation mechanic experience.)

Part‑time Instructors presenting a certificate with a single rating will be limited to teaching only the subject material related to that rating. The above AMT Instructor education and experience requirements still apply.

• Official transcripts are required to be submitted within 2 weeks of offer date for degrees required in the stated Instructor Qualifications.
• Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a foreign institution with equivalent accreditation. Transcripts from other countries will be evaluated by agencies recognized by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.
