Position Overview
Portland Community College is accepting applications for part‑time faculty assignments in the Criminal Justice Department at the Cascade Campus. All initial part‑time teaching opportunities are limited to campus classroom instruction; online and distance learning courses are not available at this time.
Applicants must be residents of Oregon or Washington.
Service is offered through a Part‑time Faculty Interest Pool; no specific position has been announced.
ResponsibilitiesTeach part‑time courses in Criminal Justice to undergraduate students.
Instructor QualificationsOption 1:
- MA, MS, JD or PhD in Criminal Justice, Administration of Justice or related field from an accredited college and three years of full‑time non‑teaching work experience in related field.
Option 2:
- AS, BA, BS in Criminal Justice, Administration of Justice or related field from an accredited college and five years of full‑time non‑teaching work experience in related field.
- Official transcripts are required to be submitted within two weeks of offer date for required degrees.
- Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a foreign institution with equivalent accreditation.
- Foreign credentials will be evaluated by agencies with good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.

Part‑time Faculty Compensation at PCCNewly hired part‑time faculty at PCC will generally start at Step 1 of the current salary schedule. Hourly rates are determined based upon the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab).
