Portland Community College is the largest post-secondary institution in Oregon and 19th largest in the nation, serving approximately 80,000 full- and part-time students. Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments in Chemistry. The Department will review applications in this pool as needed for new part-time faculty in this area. This is NOT an announcement of a specific open position, but a Part-time Faculty Interest Pool. Applications may be considered for substitute assignments or full-term class assignments.

As part of this application, you will be asked to list the PCC courses you would be able to teach. • Master’s degree (or higher) in the subject area
• OR Master’s degree (or higher) in a related area plus 30 quarter hours of graduate credit in the subject area

These lists may not be inclusive. The Program Dean, with the Faculty Department Chair, will determine applicability of degrees outside this list.

Provisional Approval:
An instructor without a Master's or Doctorate may be considered if they have 30 quarter hours of graduate credit in the subject area and are pursuing the degree, with anticipated completion within six months. A letter from the graduate advisor will be required and kept on file.

These positions are included in the bargaining agreement between Portland Community College and the Portland Community College Faculty Federation Employees.
