Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments in Chemistry. The Department will review applications in this pool as needed for new part-time faculty in this area. This is NOT an announcement of a specific open position, but a Part-time Faculty Interest Pool. Applications may be considered for substitute assignments or full-term class assignments.

InstructorQualifications
- Master’s degree (or higher) in the subject area
- OR Master’s degree (or higher) in a related area plus 30 quarter hours of graduate credit in the subject area

Related Area Degrees Include (but are not limited to):
Agricultural Chemistry, Biophysics, Chemical Biology;
Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Materials Engineering;
Materials Science, Petroleum Engineering, Pharmacology;
Physical Sciences, Toxicology
These lists may not be inclusive. The Program Dean, with the Faculty Department Chair, will determine applicability of degrees outside this list.
Provisional Approval:
An instructor without a Master's or Doctorate may be considered if they have 30 quarter hours of graduate credit in the subject area and are pursuing the degree, with anticipated completion within six months. A letter from the graduate advisor will be required and kept on file.

Note Regarding Academic Credentials- Official transcripts are required to be submitted within 2 weeks of offer date for degrees required in the stated Instructor Qualifications.
- Instructors shall have earned required credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or an equivalent foreign institution. Transcripts from other countries will be evaluated by agencies recognized by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.

These positions are included in the bargaining agreement between Portland Community College and the Portland Community College Faculty Federation Employees.
