Automotive Collision Repair Instructor

Portland Community College (PCC) invites applications for an Automotive Collision Repair Instructor who will bridge academic theory and industry practice for our students. The position is located in Oregon or Washington, and the successful candidate must be able to establish residence in one of these states.

• Design and deliver instruction in Non‑Structural Analysis and Repair, Structural Analysis and Damage Repair, Painting and Refinishing, and Mechanical & Electrical Components.
• Develop course materials, assessments, and laboratory exercises that incorporate industry best practices.
• Mentor students, foster inclusive learning environments, and promote workplace readiness.
• Provide ongoing feedback and support to students throughout the academic year and during summer sessions.
• Utilize modern teaching technologies and courseware design tools to enhance learning outcomes.

• High‑school diploma or equivalent.
• I‑CAR Training in Auto Collision Repair.
• Minimum five (5) years of full‑time, on‑line experience in auto collision repair.
• Three (3) or more years of supervisory experience in the industry.
• ASE certification in Auto Collision Repair required within the first year of hire.
• Ability to develop instructional materials and conduct training in an academic setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with 21‑st‑century teaching technologies and common courseware design programs.
• Commitment to inclusive education and ability to apply culturally responsive teaching methods.
• Regionally accredited U.S. academic credentials or equivalent international credentials evaluated by a recognized agency.

Initial salary placement ranges from Step1 ($73,911) to Step3 ($78,408) based on related experience. Higher steps up to Step
17 ($118,558) are possible.
