Congregation Shir Tikvah is seeking an enthusiastic and creative educator to join the Nashira Project, our Sunday morning Jewish learning community on Portland's Eastside.
We're looking for someone who loves working with children and is excited to make Jewish learning come alive through stories, song, prayer, Hebrew, movement, and meaningful relationships.
Qualifications:Experience teaching, working with children, or leading youth programs. School, preschool, daycare, camp, synagogue, or similar settings.
Familiarity with Jewish holidays, rituals, traditions, and basic Hebrew
Comfort participating in or leading simple tefillah (or a willingness to learn)
Applicants must be available for the kick-off event (September date TBD) at least 18 of the 20 Nashira sessions, and Teacher Orientation in late August.
Time commitment2-3 hours/week (Sunday AM)
