Waldorf-Inspired Parent-Child Teacher (Children Ages 1–2)
Part-Time | Up to 3 Hours per Week | 10-Week Session
We are seeking a warm, nurturing, and creative Waldorf Parent-Child Teacher to lead and enrich our parent-child program for children ages 1–2 and their caregivers at our forest school. This is a unique opportunity to cultivate meaningful connections with young children and families through nature-based, Waldorf-inspired early childhood education.
About the RoleThe Parent-Child Teacher will facilitate a weekly 1.5-hour class that fosters rhythm, wonder, and connection through seasonal activities, nature exploration, songs, finger plays, storytelling, movement, practical work, and shared snack time. The teacher will create a welcoming environment where caregivers can deepen their understanding of child development while building community with one another.
While the school has an established rhythm and curriculum to support the class, we are excited to welcome an educator who is inspired to build upon that foundation with creativity, fresh ideas, and a deep understanding of Waldorf early childhood education.
Responsibilities- Plan and lead one 1.5-hour parent-child class each week for a 10-week session.
- Arrive 30 minutes before class for setup and remain 30 minutes after class for cleanup and closing duties.
- Utilize up to 30 minutes of paid planning time each week to prepare lessons, gather materials, and thoughtfully develop the curriculum.
- Create a gentle, rhythmical, and developmentally appropriate Waldorf-inspired experience.
- Guide caregivers in modeling respectful, mindful interactions with their children.
- Incorporate outdoor experiences that encourage exploration and connection with the natural world.
- Prepare simple seasonal activities, songs, stories, crafts, and practical work.
- Coordinate with the preschool teaching team to ensure classes are scheduled and outdoor spaces are shared in a way that supports all programs.
- Foster a warm, inclusive, and supportive community among participating families.
- Communicate with school staff regarding class needs and participant engagement.
- Experience teaching Waldorf early childhood or parent-child classes preferred.
- Waldorf teacher training or coursework is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of early childhood development, particularly for children ages 1–2.
- Comfort working outdoors in a forest school environment in a variety of weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, organized, collaborative, and self-directed.
- Up to 3 hours per week

- Additional teaching opportunities may be available for the right candidate as our programs continue to grow.
- $18–$21 per hour
