Step into an impactful role as a Special Education Teacher providing essential coverage for an early childhood classroom during a maternity leave. This full-time, onsite position near Portland, OR, offers you the chance to make a real difference in the lives of young learners. You’ll work collaboratively with supportive teams and help maintain high standards of education and care during this important period.
The assignment runs from August 17th through October, with the possibility of extending.
Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching license and credentials for early childhood required
- Previous experience working in early childhood special education settings highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner effectively with families and staff
- Creative problem-solving abilities and adaptability in dynamic educational environments
- Ability to support a broad range of special needs, ensuring an inclusive and nurturing classroom
- Deliver high-quality instruction tailored to individual student needs within early childhood special education
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other school personnel
- Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Engage families in supporting student learning and progress
- Monitor and document student growth while providing ongoing support and encouragement
- Maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom culture
