Job Title – After School Teacher FLSA Classification – Non-exempt Salary Grade – Regular, Part-time, 25 hours/week, $22.50 – $23.18 per hour Benefits –Paid time off and sick leave prorated by FTE. 403b with a 4% match after 90 days of employment, medical, dental, and vision coverage at 30+ regular work hours per week, 11.5 Holidays. Report to – Director of School Aged Programs Work environment – 1737 NW 26th Ave.Portland, OR 97210 Schedule – Monday through Friday, 1-6pm Hours vary for school in-service days, conference days, winter break, and spring break. This is an in-person position. Work is not remote. Supervision – This position is not responsible for the supervision of other staff members. Date – July 2026
This position is union-eligible and is represented by ILWU Local 5.
Job Description – SummaryThis position will plan and implement safe, developmentally appropriate activities with the responsibility of managing their group of children in collaboration with other program staff. The After School Teacher will ensure the enrichment, social development, health, and safety of children in the After School Program. This job is performed in classrooms at Friendly House, Chapman Elementary School, Wallace Park, occasional field trips off site, and the two-block walking route between Friendly House and the park.
This position will adhere to all childcare regulations, and Friendly House Policies. This is a 25-hour per week position.
