Job Overview
K-8 Special Services Paraprofessional - dedicated to supporting students with special needs in a Catholic K-8 setting.
Responsibilities- Cultivate the Catholic faith, virtuous character, and a love for learning
- Provide direct instruction to students
- Perform limited screening and assessment
- Assist with providing adaptation in classroom assignments and curriculum
- Pre-teach and re-teach identified general education material
- Provide alternative testing formats
- Attend planning/progress monitoring meetings
- Be a student’s advocate to general education teachers, administrator, and parents
- Support student's physical needs, including bathroom assistance if needed
- Be committed to continually developing skills and improving as a paraprofessional
- Collaborate with general education teachers and concerning student specific IEPs, accommodations, modifications, and interventions to assist students in growing to their fullest potential
- Honor and support school initiatives, administrative decisions, the vision of our archdiocese, and the Catholic Church
