JOB PURPOSE:

We are looking for someone who is energetic, an effective communicator and a self-starter as well as detail-oriented with a commitment to serving students in regard to career planning.

PREREQUISITES FOR ELIGIBILITY:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Meets with individual students and provides guidance about how to conduct career research.
  • Meets with students to conduct resume reviews and critique cover letters and other job search correspondence.
  • Provides job search, internship search, and interviewing information and tips to students.
  • Provides students with information about graduate and professional school search and application process.
  • Attend and represent the Career Center during campus events.
  • Maintains high level of confidentiality and respect for students, staff and faculty.
  • Provides administrative support to the Career Center including welcoming visitors to the center, answering telephone calls and emails, and scheduling appointments.
  • Assists in updating information in the online internship and job database, Handshake.
  • Promotes career planning across campus and helps to market career related events.
RESPONSIBILITY TOWARDS DIVERSITY:

Ability to honor and work with all identities and individuals, particularly those who are underrepresented in the country and/or at Lewis & Clark College.

SCHEDULE:

6-8 hrs. per week, mostly weekdays, some evening and weekend events.

RATE OF PAY:

$16.80 per hour

WORK STUDY REQUIREMENT:

Federal or L&C Work Study required
