Academic and Enrichment Coordinator

NAYA Family Center is seeking a creative, organized, and youth-centered Academic and Enrichment Coordinator to join our Youth and Education Services team. This role creates engaging learning and enrichment opportunities for Native youth in grades 2–8 throughout the school year, as well as during spring and summer breaks. As the Academic and Enrichment Coordinator, you'll help turn program goals into meaningful, hands‑on experiences that support academic growth, cultural connection, personal development, and wellness.

You'll coordinate daily programming, build relationships with schools and community partners, support youth goal plans, and help create a welcoming, culturally responsive environment where young people are encouraged to learn, grow, and thrive. This is a full‑time, non‑exempt position with general working hours of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some schedule flexibility is available with approval, and occasional evenings and weekends may be required.

Pay for this position is $27.00 per hour.

• You have knowledge of Native American history and understand the diversity of local American Indian and Alaska Native communities and the Urban Indian experience.
• You are passionate about helping young people succeed academically while creating opportunities for cultural connection, personal growth, and enrichment.
• You have experience working with youth in educational, after‑school, out‑of‑school‑time, or youth development settings, particularly with culturally diverse and low‑income communities.
• You enjoy creating engaging, age‑appropriate activities and can confidently support youth in grades 2–8 through tutoring, educational activities, enrichment, and experiential learning.
• You understand trauma‑informed care and the Relational Worldview Model and value culturally responsive approaches to working with youth and families.
• You are highly organized and can manage schedules, programs, participant records, grant requirements, and competing priorities while following through on commitments.
• You are comfortable building partnerships with schools, community organizations, volunteers, and other service providers to expand opportunities for youth.
• You are a strong communicator who can facilitate activities, lead presentations and trainings, write clearly, and listen actively.
• You are adaptable, thoughtful, and able to remain calm and use sound judgment when navigating challenging situations.
• You are comfortable using Microsoft Office, databases, email, web‑based tools, and social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and You Tube.
• A bachelor's degree in Education, Public Administration, Communications, Social Work, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Experience with grant writing, reporting, evaluation, and program management is a plus.
