Chance Light Behavioral Health, Therapy & Education seeks a Special Education Teacher to support children and young adults with behavioral and learning challenges. In this role, you will design and deliver individualized and small-group instruction, develop and manage IEPs, and collaborate closely with therapists and behavior specialists to implement evidence-based interventions. You will monitor progress, adjust supports, and communicate regularly with families and districts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized and small-group instruction to K-12 students with special needs using evidence-based practices
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with families and school teams
  • Assess student academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs and track progress toward goals
  • Collaborate daily with therapists, behavior analysts, and support staff to coordinate care
  • Implement behavior intervention plans and use positive behavior support strategies
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and compliance with special education regulations
  • Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and district partners on student progress
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and training on specialized interventions
  • Adapt curriculum, materials, and classroom environment to diverse learning and behavioral needs
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed learning environment aligned with organizational values
