Position: Preschool Teacher's Assistant (Early Childhood Education)
Responsibilities:
Assist the Preschool Lead Teacher in the supervision, teaching, and management of a group of children under the age of six years old. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist the teacher to plan, implement and supervise an appropriate program according to the philosophy of Portland Christian for the assigned class and in close working relationship with other staff.
- Constant and consistent supervision of the children in a positive style of teaching and training.
- Observe, record, and report on individual and group behaviors and injuries.
- Assume a share of the housekeeping responsibilities of the staff.
- Promote parent involvement through parent meetings and communications.
- Attend all staff meetings and events.
- Maintain professional conduct, attitude, appearance, and loyalty at all times; treat all people with respect and dignity.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
PCS employees are expected to fully engage in the stated mission of the school, "to educate students in the truth of God's word in every area of instruction and activity, so that their lives may be transformed by the renewing of their minds." Must be willing to sign the PCS Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Statement. Aback ground check will be run after a preliminary offer of employment is made.

Education:
High School Diploma or AA Degree.
Oregon Registry:
Must obtain a step 3 or higher within one year of employment.
