About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical C&I Platform Operator to support the ongoing performance and reliability of the Elexity Commercial & Industrial (C&I) product. In this role, you will serve as the primary frontline monitor for our commercial and industrial field assets. This role is responsible for ensuring maximum uptime and reliability through proactive system monitoring, precise incident ticketing, and clear communication with both internal engineering teams and external stakeholders.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with advanced energy and building systems while helping establish the foundation for our future operations group.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Monitoring:
    Conduct comprehensive, daily monitoring of the Elexity C&I platform C&I Platform Operator JD and its managed sites to ensure optimal performance, uptime, energy efficiency, and customer savings.
  • Issue Triage & Ticketing:
    Act as the first line of defense for system anomalies. Create, manage, and escalate tickets using Airtable, and coordinate real-time responses with the engineering team via Slack.
  • Customer Support:
    Be the first point of contact for customers with questions and problems, ticketing their issues, and growing into being able to help with troubleshooting and fixing their problems.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
    Compile, analyze, and distribute regular system health, performance, and incident reports to technical leadership and relevant stakeholders.
  • Sustaining Operations:
    Act as the primary monitor for deployed field assets to ensure continuous operations. Responsibilities include actively detecting system errors or offline events, creating detailed support tickets, tracking incident resolution progress, and compiling operational performance reports for management.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience:

    This role is entry level. Recent graduates are invited to apply.
  • Education:

    A degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Systems, or a related discipline) is preferred.
  • Industry Exposure:
    Foundational knowledge of, or exposure to, building management systems (BMS), commercial HVAC, or energy infrastructure is a very strong plus.
  • Technical Tools:
    Proficiency or ability to quickly learn operational workflow tools like Airtable, Slack, and proprietary hardware/utility dashboards.
  • Analytical Mindset:
    Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data, identify trends, and spot anomalies in system performance.
  • Communication:
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively report issues and collaborate cross-functionally.

Work Environment & Location

This role is based in Portland, Oregon on a hybrid schedule. You will be required to be in the office a minimum of three days per week to foster team collaboration. Additionally, occasional travel (approximately once per quarter) may be required for site visits, hardware familiarization, or team gatherings.
