The Process Engineer will perform a combination of the Project Engineer (PE) and Plant Industrialization Manager (PIM) functions. The role includes executing capital projects and leading the industrialization of packaging, product, productivity, innovation, and renovation projects at the manufacturing facility.

As the Project Engineer (PE), the individual will execute projects in processing, packaging and utilities areas, lead small to large-scale projects, coordinate all efforts between contractors and the facility, and manage project capital, execution, and hand-off to maintenance and operations. The PE ensures all applicable Danone standards are met, including personnel safety, food safety, energy and water conservation.

The PIM serves as the single point of contact between the plant and cross-functional teams (PMO, R&I, Quality, etc.), working with Innovation and Engineering for product and package industrialization. The PIM manages trials and the industrial qualification process, ensuring plant readiness to supply the product and representing the plant in the industrialization process. The PIM bridges corporate and plant locations to ensure project success and escalates risks when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in and manage requisition and capital authorization requests; accountable for project spending and providing technical and management expertise on engineering projects as assigned by the Plant Engineering Manager.
• Validate business needs with cross-functional stakeholders and translate into equipment requirements for improving or expanding plant operations (including new product launches and innovations) and major repairs to systems and buildings.
• Interact with plant teams (Packaging, Processing, Quality, Finance, Management), Corporate Engineering, Sourcing & Supplier Development, R&I, Danone Engineering Worldwide, vendors, suppliers, contractors, operators, and auditors.
• Coordinate and direct resources to ensure the safe, timely, and successful completion of projects.
• Establish strong relationships with vendors and suppliers and other sources of applicable technologies.
• Write specifications and reference Global Danone Standards.
• Prepare technical proposals for feasibility studies of new concepts, launches of new products, and improvements of current products.
• Support development of a master and strategic plan for packaging and processing departments, including layout, material handling, and utilities for project growth.
• Continuously improve methods and tools for engineering and project execution; maintain current equipment and process specifications.
• Deliver technical guidance and engineering support to consumer business units.
• Administer technical guidance on new projects to ensure processes, equipment, and site meet quality, food safety, and operating efficiency standards.
• Act as single point of contact for coordinating and prioritizing the weekly trial schedule for the plant, including monthly and future forecasts.

• Ensure pre-trial tasks are completed with defined success criteria; align internal/external resources and test materials.
• Lead trials to meet objectives within the downtime schedule; manage root causes and next steps if issues occur.
• Complete post-trial tasks and deliver industrial results, including data, recommendations, and risk escalation as needed.
• Gatekeeper to ensure qualification trial standards are followed and validated on each project.
• Provide technical oversight during initial product production and ensure proper handoff to plant quality and production teams.
• Provide industrial input and approval on all packaging and product specifications, leveraging plant subject matter experts as needed.

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 USD. The exact salary offered depends on experience, location, internal equity, and market conditions. About You

Education and Experience (Requirements):
The following combination of education and experience is required.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Chemical or related engineering science.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in engineering systems design for the manufacturing environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of high-speed packaging systems design and integrated automation and controls technology.
• Knowledge of dairy process engineering and PMO, 3A standards.
• Project management skills and knowledge of the project management process, tools and tasks for capital projects; financial and analytical skills.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and MS Project.
