Cyclotron Engineer — Power Breakthroughs in Medical Imaging & Isotope Research

Whether your background is in cyclotron operations, nuclear energy, Navy Nuclear Propulsion, or medical isotope production and research, this role places you at the intersection of precision engineering and scientific impact.

  • Advancement of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals
What You’ll Do
  • Operate, maintain, and repair cyclotrons and accelerator technology used in PET radiopharmaceutical and medical isotope manufacturing.
  • Support medical research with consistent production of research‑grade isotopes.
  • Maintain and repair isotope production equipment including hot cells, manipulator arms, and radio synthesizers.
  • Complete GMP‑compliant documentation, deviations, CAPAs, and audit materials.
  • Operate cyclotrons during production runs, including night and weekend rotations.
  • Support radiation safety duties per FDA, NRC, and EHS requirements.
  • Train staff and develop SOPs and technical procedures.
  • Oversee contractors and implement equipment reliability improvements.
  • Provide after‑hours technical support as needed.
What You Bring
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Nuclear Technology, or related field.
  • Experience in medical isotope research (strongly valued).
  • Background in nuclear power, reactor systems, particle accelerators, or Navy Nuclear Propulsion is highly transferable.
  • Knowledge of digital/analog circuitry, RF systems, vacuum technology, and high‑voltage systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronics at the component level.
  • Familiarity with GMP, FDA 21 CFR 212, radiation safety protocols, and NRC.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
