Schedule: Full-Time/Hybrid

Opti Staffing Group is partnering with a respected structural steel organization to identify a Senior Structural Steel Estimator with strong experience in structural steel fabrication and erection
. This is a high-impact role for an estimator who knows how to own complex bids, work cross-functionally, and leverage technology like Tekla and/or Power Fab to deliver accurate, competitive estimates.

• Lead estimating efforts for structural steel fabrication and erection projects
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from structural and architectural drawings
• Utilize Tekla Structures and/or Power Fab for estimating, takeoffs, and data management
• Analyze labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs
• Review bid documents, specifications, and scope to ensure complete and accurate estimates
• Collaborate with project managers, detailers, engineers, and fabrication teams
• Develop bid proposals, clarifications, and value‑engineering options
• Maintain historical cost data and estimating benchmarks
• Participate in post-bid reviews and project handoff meetings
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior estimators as needed

• 7+ years of experience estimating structural steel projects
• Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes
• Hands‑on experience with Tekla Structures and/or Power Fab
• Ability to read and interpret structural, architectural, and shop drawings
• Working knowledge of AISC standards and industry best practices
• Highly organized with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
• Clear communicator who works well across teams

• Experience with large‑scale commercial or industrial steel projects - BRIDGE-ERECTOR-STRUCTURAL-STEEL
• Fabrication shop background
• BIM coordination or detailing exposure
• Leadership or mentoring experience
• Engineering or construction management background
