Are you an innovative database engineer driven to make a difference? We are building an engineering team to deliver the next generation of database platform services. You will leverage your product expertise, best practices, and automation skills to engineer new database services and capabilities. You will work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
Join us in building and migrating the enterprise to Oracle 12c. As a technical leader, you will develop and oversee the database migration process, working closely with application teams to provide consultative support and expertise in performance tuning and troubleshooting. You will utilize enterprise tools such as Oracle Real Application Tester and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
ResponsibilitiesThe Infrastructure Database Engineer provides escalation services to the core production support team, applies performance diagnostic expertise, reviews best practices, and drives efficiency programs. Responsibilities include resolving complex issues involving database performance, capacity, replication, and other key distributed database technologies. Candidates should have deep DBMS capabilities and scripting skills to contribute to infrastructure automation. The role requires on-call availability to respond to major incidents as a tier 3 or 4 engineer, guiding the operations team.
Qualifications- 5-10+ years of experience administering multi-terabyte, 24/7 Oracle databases as a Systems/Infrastructure Database Engineer.
- Strong experience with Oracle versions 10gR2, 11gR1/2, and 12c in UNIX environments.
- Proven Oracle Database Performance Diagnostic skills (SQL and system levels).
- Programming experience in PL/SQL, UNIX Shell Scripting, and preferably Perl.
- Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Active Data Guard, OEM, and RAT.
- Extensive experience with Oracle RMAN backup and recovery.
- Experience with MS SQL Server 2008R2 and 2012.
- Self-starter with the ability to acquire new skills autonomously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to drive projects successfully.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
