Mag Tech is currently hiring a Controls Engineer near Portland, OR. Please apply below if you are interested and meet the qualifications below!

Responsibilities:
A Controls Engineer designs, develops and oversees all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery. Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Fluid Power field a plus. Occasionally onsite commissioning is required.

Salary: Starting at $80,000-$90,000

Hours: Business hours - Monday-Friday, standard 40-hour work week with occasional OT.

Direct Hire - Permanent Position/Salary-Exempt

Travel: Less than 10%

Job Description:
  • Develop electrical control panel design, schematics, and 2D layout drawings in AutoCAD Electrical
  • Interpret mechanical & hydraulic design drawings for electrical requirements
  • Work with outside sales team to develop detailed quotes and proposals on new opportunities.
  • Research supplier products for assembly components and manage relationships with vendors
  • Develop bill of materials
  • Troubleshooting, field testing, and installation
  • Creation of submittals, training instructions, and O&M Manuals
  • Review of project specifications to assure compliance with customer requirements
  • Familiarity with loading PLC programs (i.e., Siemens, Allen Bradley, and or IDEC) and testing basic machine functionality.
Job Requirements:
  • 5+ years of Industrial Controls design
  • Extensive knowledge of Industrial Controls
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Able to program PLCs, HMIs, Controllers, and VFDs
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of UL508A and NFPA 79
  • Excellent documentation, written and oral communication skills
  • Able to work independently or in a team environment
  • Problem Solving skills required
  • Ability to interface with panel shop technicians and provide shop support as needed.
