Job Description

AECOM’s Portland Transportation group is actively seeking a highly‑motivated, experienced Civil Engineer with experience in roadway, highway, and/or civil site design. This role will be part of an established surface transportation group and will work with a broad variety of transportation clients and projects throughout AECOM’s West Region.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues throughout AECOM’s West Region on rail/transit infrastructure projects for multiple state, local and federal government agencies
  • Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for the team
  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality, cost‑effective work by others
  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
  • Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects
  • Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package
  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings
  • Prepares technical specification sections
  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
  • Directly manages junior level staff
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • 6+ years of experience designing railroads, highways, roadways for transportation projects
Preferred Qualifications
  • Oregon Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain license within six months
  • Experience using InRoads and/or Civil 3D design software packages for the conceptual and detailed design of horizontal and vertical alignments, sections, and 3D modeling on rail and/or highway projects
  • Experience with designs and plans production for transportation/civil infrastructure projects including calculations
  • Prior experience in similar roles
  • Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Additional Information
  • Sponsorship is not offered for this position now or in the future.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $100,000 to $175,000.
