Position OverviewRWDI seeks a Building Enclosure Consultant to join the Portland office. The role involves supporting projects from early design to on-site guidance and performance verification, delivering insights on maintenance and enhancement of existing structures, and assisting senior consultants.
Responsibilities- Observe construction and installation of building enclosure systems in the field, including review of mockups and quality assurance testing.
- Conduct assessments of existing building enclosures.
- Draft details for the building enclosure using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Review enclosure details and specifications prepared by clients.
- Assist clients with system selection for building enclosure.
- Research building codes, industry standards, and enclosure systems for performance, compatibility, and durability.
- Provide local travel and occasional overnight trips as required.
- Handle physical aspects such as climbing ladders and stairs.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in building enclosure design, review, and assessments.
- Undergraduate degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of building science and building enclosure controls for heat, air, and water.
- Strong communication skills expressing technical concepts in straightforward language.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Familiarity with building performance modeling software.
- Familiarity with energy codes.
- Familiarity with building commissioning.
- Experience in construction or construction management.
