Overview/Summary:
Our Client is a global professional services firm that provides engineering, design, construction, and consulting solutions across infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, energy, water, and government sectors. They have 140+ office locations nationwide. This role is hybrid, requiring 2 days per week in office at one of our Client's offices. Open to fully remote for exceptional candidates.

Key Responsibilities:
Depending on project needs, this role serves as either a Piping Discipline Lead or Senior QA/QC authority, with full accountability for piping design quality from early layout through final model review. The position requires independent technical judgment to ensure designs are code-compliant, constructible, operable, and maintainable, with a strong focus on preventing downstream issues through proactive, design-integrated QA/QC.

The role leads piping design execution, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements, while coordinating across disciplines to meet scope, schedule, and delivery goals. Responsibilities include overseeing layout and routing, reviewing vendor and design deliverables, and providing clear technical direction to designers and workshare teams.

Key functions include conducting and guiding 3D model reviews beyond clash detection—evaluating constructability, access, maintenance, stress considerations, and installation sequencing—while identifying risks early and providing actionable feedback to improve design quality and consistency.

The role supports project execution through close collaboration with engineering, project management, and multi-discipline teams, ensuring alignment, resolving issues, and communicating risks or scope changes. Additional responsibilities include supporting estimating, change management, and global workshare execution.

This position also emphasizes mentorship and continuous improvement, guiding team members through technical leadership, enhancing workflows and standards, and promoting a culture of quality driven by strong design practices and early engagement.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline
  • 12–15+ years of piping engineering and/or design experience in complex industrial environments (Oil & Gas, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor, or similar), with demonstrated leadership or technical authority experience
  • Must have 3+ years of proven Technical Leadership
  • Proven ability to manage or support scope, schedule, and budget considerations on multi discipline industrial projects
  • Advanced working knowledge of piping codes and standards (ASME, B31.3, and related industry codes)
  • Strong working knowledge of 3D piping design platforms such as CADWorx Plant or Autodesk Revit, including the ability to review, assess, and guide model based design deliverables
  • Demonstrated understanding of constructability, safety, and cost control principles as they relate to piping layout and design execution
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate across disciplines and engage effectively with project teams and clients
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Experience supporting projects in semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or similarly complex industrial facilities
  • Working knowledge of pipe stress analysis concepts and experience coordinating with stress engineers to ensure compatibility with layout and design intent
  • Demonstrated success in global workshare execution, including effective communication and coordination with…
