Professional Services Leader - Water Business Group
Full‑time – Portland, Oregon
HDR is a 100% employee‑owned professional services firm specializing in engineering, architecture, environmental, and construction services. We are seeking an experienced professional services leader in the drinking water, wastewater, or water resources industry to serve as the Oregon Water Business Group Professional Services Lead (PSL).
Role Overview
- Supervise and develop the water business class leaders and their staff.
- Provide technical oversight and staff resource assignment to projects across Oregon.
- Direct the quality management system program and perform project reviews focusing on scheduling, staffing, leadership, and quality.
- Mentor delivery staff and develop technical learning paths.
- Lead project teams as project manager, design manager, or other role.
- Coordinate and lead a bi‑weekly staff coordination meeting.
- Collaborate with HDR’s Water Professional Services Global Director to implement technical and quality initiatives.
- Collaborate on technical delivery and business development for cross‑business group opportunities.
- Support recruiting efforts to attract and retain eminent talent for the Water Business Group program.
- MS in a relevant engineering field (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental) preferred.
- Oregon PE (or ability to obtain by comity within 6 months of hire).
- Prior experience in wastewater, drinking water, or water resources management consulting.
- Bachelor's degree in a professional, architecture, engineering, or closely related field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the field.
- Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams and commitment to quality, improvement, and HDR values.
- Active engagement in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand.
- Ability to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, other area business group directors, technical directors, and marketing managers.
