Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, and contribute to the development of enhanced safety procedures for plant operations.
  • Support the engineering, design, and implementation of new processes, equipment, and unit operations within the refinery.
  • Assist with commissioning new processes and equipment in collaboration with plant management and technical teams.
  • Work shifts as needed alongside operators and technicians to gain a comprehensive understanding of plant operations and processes.
  • Develop, update, and deliver training on standard operating and maintenance procedures (SOPs).
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and coordinate repairs of existing equipment and instrumentation to ensure optimal performance.
  • Participate in preventative maintenance activities, including tracking and reporting maintenance actions.
  • Help achieve company targets for process reliability and mechanical integrity.
  • Receive, review, and track repair orders, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding issues.
  • Oversee and maintain spare parts inventory to support maintenance and production reliability.
  • Monitor and update facility control systems, including logic programming and graphics development, with guidance as needed.
  • Assist in preparing and distributing accurate production and data collection reports.
  • Support construction activities, provide technical input, and assist with equipment specification and procurement.
  • Contribute to process optimization initiatives and recommend improvements to management.
  • Assist in managing Mechanical Integrity, Process Safety Information, and Management of Change within the Process Safety Management (PSM) program.
  • Provide technical oversight for repairs, process upgrades, and regulatory communications as required.
  • Support environmental, health, and safety (EHS) activities and their implementation.
  • Supervise third‑party contractors and 1‑2 maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Provide technical site tours and support executive management as requested.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 1‑2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret technical documents and present information clearly.
  • Familiarity with technical drawings, control systems, and process logic is a plus.
  • Ability to supervise and direct contractors and maintenance staff.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematics, algebra, and geometry.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
Compensation

$70,000–$85,000 annual salary , depending on experience.
