Job Description
A leading design-build mechanical contractor is hiring a Fire Protection Staff Inspector to support its Fire Protection division in Portland, OR. This role is responsible for performing inspections, testing, and maintenance on fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems, as well as Fire Fighter Air Rescue Systems (FARS). This individual will serve as a senior resource in the field, supporting system compliance while also providing guidance and mentorship to junior inspectors.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and experienced in fire protection inspection standards and reporting requirements.

- 3+ years of experience in fire protection inspection, testing, and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 25 and/or NFPA 72
- NICET Level II in Fire Sprinkler and/or Fire Alarm (inspection/testing/maintenance)
- Experience performing inspections on fire sprinkler and alarm systems
- Ability to document and communicate inspection findings clearly
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in the field
- Experience with Fire Fighter Air Rescue Systems (FARS)
- Experience mentoring or leading junior inspectors
- Familiarity with code compliance and working with AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction)
