Telecommunications BIM Designer

Location: United States (Remote/Hybrid – Preference for candidates near a U.S.

-based office)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Telecommunications BIM Designer to support design documentation and BIM model development for telecommunications systems, with a strong focus on data center environments.

In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and managing Revit BIM models, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and producing both 3D models and 2D construction drawings. You will work closely with telecom leads, engineers, and designers to translate design intent into accurate, constructable, and clash-free deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage Revit BIM models in coordination with cross-functional design teams
  • Create and maintain fully coordinated 3D models across multiple disciplines
  • Produce 2D construction drawings from BIM models
  • Utilize Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD for modeling and coordination
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and discipline leads to ensure design accuracy
  • Follow established BIM standards and client requirements
  • Support clash detection and model coordination efforts
  • Interpret design markups and implement changes accurately
  • Estimate time required for modeling and design tasks
  • Maintain organized documentation and model integrity
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of BIM design experience
  • 3+ years of experience in telecommunications systems design and construction
  • Basic understanding of:
    • Wiring and cabling systems
    • Design and construction specifications
    • Industry codes and standards
  • Experience working with client design and modeling standards
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD
  • Experience working in data center environments
  • Knowledge of:
    • Paging, intercom, and audio-visual systems
    • Life safety and security systems (fire alarm, access control, CCTV)
    • Control systems, network components, and topology
