Position OverviewAs a Senior level Power Plant Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be the driving force behind our mission. Your expertise will extend to the very heart of our operations, from the intense combustion turbines to the intricate steam turbine systems.

You’ll provide on‑site engineering support—typically a day trip, sometimes longer during outage season or forced outage—ensuring generation assets meet industry standards, codes, and regulations, particularly in combustion and steam turbine engineering.

Specializing in combustion and steam turbine engineering, you’ll lead major maintenance activities and component upgrades, develop specifications, coordinate fabrication, and drive successful outcomes. - Quality Matters:

- Engineering Standards: Maintains currency in state‑of‑the‑art engineering practices and provides guidance and direction on engineering processes and standards to colleagues as requested. Utilizes thorough understanding and interpretation of applicable codes (ASME B31.1 Power Piping, ASME Boiler Pressure Vessel Code, ANSI, NFPA, etc.) and serves as a resource for guidance.
- Engineering Production: Prepares complex engineering deliverables for large or multiple projects, coordinates multidisciplinary activity. Analyzes and recommends design enhancements to operation, reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance; reviews calculations; supports root‑cause analyses; prepares reports and design packages; develops solutions and initiates corrective actions; provides design direction to engineers, technicians, draftsmen, and designers.
- Project Coordination: Actively coordinates with internal/external team members on moderately complex projects, represents the team to stakeholders, reviews junior engineering work, selects design methodologies and solutions, leads work with other engineering departments, plant staff, environmental services, nondestructive examination team and reliability‑centered maintenance team, scopes, plans, schedules and directs major and minor projects, prepares budget estimates and tracks costs.
- Knowledge Sharing: Acts as a technical specialist, provides consultation and guidance to project teams regarding steam and combustion turbine technology, fosters knowledge management, mentors, and implements resource‑management strategy.
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Preferred from an ABET‑accredited program or equivalent.
- Typically five or more years in engineering, or four or more years in a related field with a professional engineering (PE) license.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license strongly preferred; may be required for the role.
- Valid driver’s license required.
