Job Type: Full-time
DescriptionKey Responsibilities:
- Conduct analytical studies on refrigeration systems and modify cooling designs.
- Analyze research data and prepare project specifications to determine feasibility of product proposals.
- Consult with CADD operators and other engineers to clarify or resolve system engineering designs.
- Prepare or direct the preparation of system layout and detailed drawings and schematics.
- Provide input to manufacturing or building of refrigeration systems.
- Assist in maintaining and developing new product standards and engineering documentation practices, as appropriate.
- Develop/design refrigeration systems for large industrial applications using established principles.
- Select and size all equipment and materials for assigned projects; coordinate purchases of all materials with the Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator.
- Interface as necessary with other in-house design professionals, external professionals, and local officials.
- Resolve all schedule design and code issues.
- Oversee the Risk Management Program (RMP) compliance with EPA regulations.
- Transition projects to the operations and service departments.
- Identify opportunities to change equipment, methods, processes, and procedures that can benefit the company, and research and develop these ideas.
- Establish and maintain a communicative, coordinated, and cooperative relationship with all other functions within the organization.
- Participate in regular scheduled meetings to ensure a free flow of information and close coordination of effort.
- Ensure that all engineering paperwork is accurately completed and collected for job costing and pricing.
- Maintain all drawings, specifications, data, and charts in an up-to-date manner.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Engineering Manager.
- BS Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or similar; ability to obtain EIT and PE.
- Professional and strong communication skills for customer interactions.
- Knowledge in design and drafting with AutoCAD or similar.
- Experience in mechanical engineering; refrigeration systems experience is a plus.
- Skilled in the principles, theories, techniques, and practices of refrigeration pipeline engineering and operating practices.
- Forward-thinking ability in the development of new design and processes.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers or regulatory agencies.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Skills in Word, Outlook, file drop boxes, PowerPoint.
- Valid driver’s license and insured under the company’s insurance carrier.
- Able to climb ladders and walk long distances on job sites.
- Ability to translate abstract thoughts and concepts into practical applications that can be understood by various personnel.
- Use of higher mathematics in engineering principles and related practical operations, with comprehensive knowledge of mechanical engineering theories and practices.
- Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Statistical and analytical knowledge using business math.
- Ability to read and comprehend plans and drawings.
