Overview/Summary: Our Client is a global professional services firm that provides engineering, design, construction, and consulting solutions across infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, energy, water, and government sectors.
The Layout Designer supports the design and coordination of facility layouts for semiconductor and other high-tech manufacturing projects. This role is responsible for producing accurate 2D drawings and 3D models, coordinating equipment layouts and space planning, resolving design conflicts, and supporting installation activities. Working closely with engineers and senior designers, the Layout Designer helps deliver projects on schedule while ensuring compliance with applicable standards, maintaining high drafting accuracy, and continuously developing technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed facility layouts, equipment placement drawings, and 3D models for semiconductor and high-tech manufacturing facilities.
- Coordinate space planning, tool placement, and workflow optimization to support efficient facility operations.
- Produce and maintain construction drawings, installation documentation, and project deliverables using Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and related software.
- Coordinate with engineering, facilities, process, equipment, and construction teams to resolve design conflicts and ensure multidisciplinary integration.
- Support equipment move-in, installation planning, field verification, and existing condition surveys.
- Identify and resolve layout issues involving utilities, clearances, accessibility, and facility constraints.
- Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, model walkthroughs, and project status updates.
- Estimate work effort, monitor assigned tasks, and ensure deliverables meet project schedules and quality standards.
- Perform thorough quality checks on drawings and models prior to review while contributing to continuous improvement of layout standards and best practices.
- Associate's degree in Computer Drafting & Design or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience supporting building systems or facility layout design for semiconductor or other high-tech manufacturing facilities.
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and related modeling and drafting software.
- Strong understanding of drafting standards, 3D modeling, and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple assignments and project deadlines.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a demonstrated commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Experience with advanced 3D modeling and clash detection workflows.
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing equipment requirements and installation processes.
- Familiarity with cleanroom environments, safety regulations, and industry standards for high-tech manufacturing.
